N615  Quinta dos Vieiras      Geres

Only 10 minutes from Geres village, Quinta dos Vieiras is approached up a steep cobbled drive under arches of vines. An unusual house built on a slope and entered through the simple kitchen where in addition to normal cooking arrangements a barbeque can be placed by the chimney breast. Access to the two upper floor bedrooms, one a twin one a double both with en-suite shower rooms, is gained via an under cover staircase and terrace. Off the kitchen is a split level lounge and large dining room with working fireplace. Doors lead out on the one side to the yard wherein cars are parked, and on the other side to the pool area. Leading also from the kitchen is a very deep and long covered veranda with chairs and tables for al-fresco eating. Also at this level is an individual loo and a suite consisting of small sitting room, a bathroom and a double bedroom. In a separate annex, there are two further bedrooms, a twin and a double,(one with en-suite bathroom the other with en-suite shower)and a kitchen and a private terrace. The pool complete with diving board and terrace overlook the valley (on the other side of which is a secondary road). The pool is kept at a constant 25 degrees year round.

Our Opinion
Very different, unusual, rambling style establishment. Internal sitting areas are quite modest, most time will likely be spend outside on one of the verandas or around the pool. More suitable for families with older children rather than toddlers. The owner lives next door in case of any difficulties.
