This is a modern property situated within centuries old stone walls on 2 sides of a grassed area with a rectangular pool. The architecture of the two buildings is very modern. The "studio" has a large living room, separate bedroom with en-suite shower room and ante room in which an extra bed can be put on request. There is also a small kitchen. The main house has a reasonably large kitchen, which in turn leads into a modern living/dining room with sliding doors onto the patio terrace overlooking the pool and built-in barbecue. Beyond the living room is a passage with 2 twin bedrooms sharing a shower room, and at the end of the passage a double with full en-suite bathroom. In addition, off the kitchen, there is a single room with en-suite shower. Outside the kitchen there is small deck for alfresco eating.

Our Opinion
Curiously enough, the modern architecture fits in very well with the very quiet atmosphere of the property. Ideal for families with grown up children who can be accommodated in the "Studio". There is a River beach accessible over a Roman bridge and bathing in the clean waters is an advantage. It is also a good area for walking and there are small café ’s and restaurants nearby. Literally across the River is a field in which each year in July is the Caminha equivalent of the Glastonbury Festival – very noisy! Proximity to Caminha and the ferry to Spain is also an advantage. Note: an Espigueiro is the small stone house used to store and dry maize.
