Our
opinion
An unusual house in many senses,
not least the hidden cellar and the artificial beach. Suffering slightly
from noise from the nearby main road, it is nevertheless a very homely and
comfortably furnished villa with an excellent pool and plenty of space for
outside eating and relaxing. Being in a growing residential area there has
been building works relatively nearby from time to time over the last few
years. This may continue. |

Our
opinion
Exhibiting a very Portuguese flavour in terms of furnishings, the quite
small bedrooms on the ground floor and exceptionally large ones on the
upper floor provide a pleasant and characterful holiday venue. A very
private villa. |

Quinta do

Our
opinion
An excellent rural style farmhouse ideal for the larger family (perhaps
with young children who would be entranced by the large roof room under
the sloping eaves). The pool is fenced and secure as is the rest of the
garden. The living room is large enough for a large party and the added
attraction of the snooker table etc. a bonus – major dinner parties
could take place in the large dining room though the kitchen equipment is
somewhat limited. The main bathroom is somewhat old fashioned and the
bedrooms are small as is the custom in this part of the country. |

Our
opinion
A very nice, quiet, relaxed house just a short distance from the beach and
from Sintra. We like the design of the house and the large shady grounds.
It is an ideal venue for family with small children (beware of them
falling off the mezanine floor!) It is close to Casa de Juncal (should
there be two families wishing to stay nearby each other). |

Our
opinion
An unusual house with a lovely garden, offering plenty of accommodation in
an excellent position for Estoril and Cascais. At the time of our
inspection we found the decorations a bit tired. |

Casa dos Bicos Costa

Our
opinion
A very good modern house with unusual design and a very large pool, the
rear elevation being particularly attractive from the poolside.
Accommodation is well designed for 2 families. The small area of
cultivated garden has prolific crops of oranges, lemons and figs. The area
itself could be described as modern residential and whilst the property in
the immediate vicinity is complete, one can hear building work in the
distance. The downstairs games room is simply a bonus. Furnishings are
typically Portuguese. For an extra charge, air conditioning is available
in the bedrooms and living rooms. Not far from the superb beach of Costa
de Caparica and nearby the small shopping complex of Verdizela. Lisbon is
a mere half hour by car. Public tennis courts within 100 yards. |

Our
opinion
A homely villa ideally placed for the golf courses Aroeira 1 and 2. The
spacious garden including swings and a sandpit. Furnishings are
comfortable rather than luxurious. There is also an outside built in
barbecue. |

The wooden walls give a particularly attractive ambiance to this very nice
villa. The proximity to the Aroeira golf courses and the beach is of
course a bonus. Very highly recommended. |

Our
opinion
A very pleasant and nicely furnished modern house in a quiet area of
countryside yet in close proximity to the village (which has a variety of
restaurants etc), and to the beach. It is also close to Sesimbra, Setubal
and indeed Lisbon. Golfers would appreciate nearby Quinta do Peru and the
two courses at Aroeira. |

Our
opinion
A very characterful house furnished in what can only be described as an
eccentric fashion (exotic, ethnic and classic combined with some Moroccan
influence) but very comfortable and intriguing. The proximity to the road
is balanced by the accessibility of shops, restaurants etc. The centre of
Sesimbra is only a couple of Kms away. The pool and garden are delightful,
a most unusual property. |

Our
opinion
Not a new house, but one which is very welcoming with a most comfortable,
and spacious living/dining area, leading on to the covered terrace, the
views from which are outstanding. It is very quiet yet the village of
Azeitão with the winery of Fonseca has several restaurants (one, highly
recommended is Restaurant Jose Maria), bars etc. Furnishings are
comfortable rather than grand. It is altogether a very pleasant Villa in
which to stay. |

Our
opinion
A most unusual and attractive complex for a party of up to 8, possibly 12
utilising the sofa beds. For the smaller party, individual mills are
available at a supplement. Setúbal is a 5 min drive where fish
restaurants abound. The beaches of Arrábida are close by and one can take
the ferry to Tróia. Highly recommended, restored and furnished to a very
high order. |
