The island of Corvo

The smallest island of the archipelago, 2 miles north of Flores, Corvo has a surface area of just 17.2 kilometres. Population is approximately 300 inhabitants, concentrated on the town of Villa Norva do Corvo. The interesting cliffs of the Cavaleiro and the Marco and various other islets scattered near the caost provide the steep coast with a splendour worthy of admiration. The black stone windmills found along the coastline are peculiar to this island. It is reputed that there are only three cars on the island! There is no accommodation available in Corvo, so visits are restricted to day trips from Flores.
